Frequently Asked Questions
What insurance does a winery need in Oregon?
Wineries may need several types of coverage, including commercial property, general liability, product liability, liquor liability, workers' compensation, equipment breakdown, business interruption, and commercial auto insurance. Coverage can be customized based on whether you grow grapes, produce wine, operate a tasting room, host events, or distribute your products.
Does winery insurance cover wine inventory?
Commercial property and specialized winery coverage may protect bottled wine, wine in storage, raw materials, and other inventory against certain covered losses. Because wine can increase significantly in value during production and aging, it is important to make sure your coverage limits accurately reflect your inventory.
Do Oregon wineries need liquor liability insurance?
Wineries that serve or sell alcohol should consider liquor liability insurance. This coverage can help protect the business against certain claims arising from the sale or service of alcoholic beverages. Your insurance agent can help determine the appropriate coverage based on your winery's operations.
